Planning a vacation for the whole family can be exciting. But if you have small children with you, a family trip can be difficult. If you

have a child with special needs may be much harder. But that does not mean that he should not go on family trips more. It just takes

careful planning that family vacation will be easy.

Most parents of special needs children do not want their children to miss out on anything that other children do not. They want their

children to have a normal life despite the disability. Thus, a family vacation should definitely be something that all children should

experience.

What do parents of children with special needs to do to make the journey as enjoyable as possible?

1. Before going through security, make sure you inform the safety officer that your child has special needs or medical devices.

2. If you think your child will be nervous when you let a safety inspection and offer suggestions on how best to perform the test with

a minimum of an explosion from the child.

3. If your child is a mobility aid such as wheelchair or scooter, it shall inform the safety officer that you will be responsible for

removing the child from the device, if necessary.

 2. On the plane

 1. If you can take a direct flight to your destination, do it if you have the budget to pay extra. Deplaning, security and crowd control at

various airports may be too stressful for the child and if he / she turns into anger, it might be too stressful for the whole family too.

 2. If possible, bring a child seat if he or she is of a size that allows the airline to use the car seat. Maximum restraint during the flight

is important.

3. Try to get front row seats in section so that the child has nothing to kick but the wall. If these seats are occupied, have another

adult in your party to take the seat in front of the child. In this way you will not have to worry about a stranger to annoy the child for

his behavior.

4. Immediately after boarding, the tape image on the tray table latch. In this way, the child will not know immediately what he / she

will not have a tray up and down several times all throughout the flight. Remember to bring books, toys and other things for a child

during the flight. They will keep him busy for some time. It takes his mind off the fact that he / she sits for a few hours flight - which

can be upsetting for a child with special needs.

5. In addition to the things your child, bring the Game Boy, iPod, laptop or portable DVD to keep a child entertainment. If he / she

has a favorite fairy tale or a song that he / she always listens and watches, make sure you bring them together.

6. Always bring your child medication.

3. Features

where you can see a selection of hotels, that cater to families who have children with special needs.

2. After selection, the first contact the hotel to talk to someone in marketing or sales, and explain what exactly the needs of your

family. Most of these hotels have a "handicapped" bathroom, but if you have a child in a wheelchair, you need to know the layout of

the room to make sure that there is enough space for a child to navigate. If your child has a disability to see and using a guide dog,

you must make sure that the hotel will allow your child to use one. When you are satisfied with the information, go ahead and book

the hotel.
